It is a photo of fire! Richard, there are police present. LindyLou, you have seen fire before, and you don't find it beautiful... enough to insult the image? I like fire. It is a force we can't copy, and it dances like nothing else on the planet. Fire IS beautiful to me. I have never seen any other negative comments made on this blog.
Kimba@ I am sorry you are upset by the comments here today. Mine was not an insult to your always professional standard photography. The question above this comment box is, 'Is this beautiful?' I answered truthfully that it is not beautiful to me. Beauty has always been in the eye of the beholder.
This I think is being in the place at the time. I have no experience of such a festival to know what type of experience it is. What I saw was a fairly graphic image of a burning man.I appreciate it was an representation, but as such I do not see this as beautiful. When I look at pictures I respond with how they make me feel not the quality of the picture. This is what I feel BW is about, how pictures make us feel. So I do not respond in a sycophantic way but how I feel always.
The man burns at the Burning Man Festival, Black Rock City, Nevada.
ReplyDeleteI've heard so much about this festival. Hope to get there one day! The picture is stunning!
ReplyDeleteThis is horrible
ReplyDeleteThis is missing a vital ingredient - the policeman! ;-)
