*chuckling* Farmers are pretty possessive about their sloughs and who's 'allowed' to hunt there. Some, I'm sure for safety--who wants shot at while they're harvesting on their tractor?! Some, I'm VERY clear is about their plans for the critters that have spent the summer dining on what they've planted in the fields. Ohhhhh...poor critters....
