These are Patas monkeys from Kenya. I visited a safari type game preserve where we enjoyed interacting with the critters. Patas monkeys are ground dwellers that can run 34 miles per hour! They can outrun most predators, but man has / is destroying their natural habitat. They are quite endangered and are now being bred in captivity to preserve the species. Frida was born 3 months ago. The little girl was named for her unibrow.
I'm not a monkey fan, but love this mother's expression of maternal love.
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful portrait Kim.
