That's an interesting piece of design... it's made to encourage quiet contemplation and discourage casual conversation - unless you actively turn to see somebody, everybody is facing slightly away from their neighbours.
It's an excellent photograph, but I have very mixed feelings about the bench itself...
I rather liked the bench. *laughing* But I rather enjoy my own company and....*looks around for witnesses* don't tell anyone, but I get 'peopled out' during the week--so this bench.....ROCKS.
*ahem* I might be known for my anti-social ways. *laughing*
