Balea Lake

  1. The house may look out of place in the middle of the lake, but looking around that may well have been the easiest place to build it - it's very difficult country.

I want that house, because I find rugged, bleak places like that very beautiful...

  2. We have a house on the lake down the road from me. I'm envious of the people that own it and now of this one!

  7. A magic scene, like a dream in cyberspace. It's an image that will stick with me for a long time, April. I have Texas friends who love traveling in Romania. I look forward to armchair travel with you!

  8. To me, it feels a lot like the opening scene to a movie.

It starts close in, then gradually zooms out to reveal a 'surprise' heading towards the unsuspecting family in the house... it pans to follow the 'surprise' landing at their jetty, then all you can see is the lights go out - followed by a blood-curdling scream...

  10. Wow.

Small wonder it got so many comments, April. What a wonderful scene. And yep, not the norm and seems a bit off--but a good off...an alluring 'off'.

    Excellent!!
