We planted these thinking they were tulips. The package of bulbs said so, had a photo of tulips on the front of it, description of planting and growing method for tulips, and came up with vegetation looking just like a tulip. They turned out to be Muscari Latifolium, something that looked like it was a grape hyacinth until it developed. We grow grape hyacinths, which have very different foliage. Research taught us the little flower was voted Holland's bulb of the year in 2008. Nice, but we really wanted tulips. In the midst of our rows of tulips stand these purple sentinels. I held one up to the sun and used the camer's flash to light the picture. Simple but effective.
A very lovely cascade. Beautiful photo.
ReplyDeleteA real art photo, lovely
ReplyDeleteAnother one where I wish it was possible to photograph the scent too... beautifully done.
