I think it's an ENT! (a Tolkein tree)
definately a nightmare tree that'll grab you when your're not looking!
It does look like it's grasping. I love trees.
Oh, now.......see, I thought they were hugging! I could deal with 'em hugging each other wayyyyyy better than I could being grabbed at by 'em!
