Tui - honey eater

Maybe you like birds ...maybe you don't? The early settlers to NZ called the tui 'parson bird' because of the white collar feathers.

  1. What a regal looking bird.
And amazing shimmer in his feathers, a bit like our Magpie, who looks black but it's feathers are actually green and blue.
What a well behaved bird to sit for his portraint as well!!!

  2. I love the ring of feathers he's got round his neck! Almost makes him look like he's wearing a coat :-)

  5. <-- likes birdies!!

And he's a cutie. I like the fancy collar he's got goin' on there. And the colours and detail to his fluffiness--very very cool!

  6. He's really pretty with the white collar and the beautiful dark turqouise colour. A fine picture of a bird. I also think the collar looks like a parson's collar. A very dignified parson! Thank you for sharing.
