King's Canyon National Park and Sequoia National Park; California

A forest fire, started by lightening, filled the air with smoke and haze.

The Giant Sequoia.

The King River, late summer.

  1. Ohhhhh....OHHHHH!!! Gimme that splashy water and tall trees, even with the haze.

    *sigh* Sad thing, the fire--

  2. A forest fire is a sad thing, so sad to lose any of those magnificent trees. The Giant Sequoia is such an awesome tree, we have some growing in NZ.

  5. Fires are so sad and generally people are to blame, though not always. Our new gates are made of Oak and Sequoia, but French grown. I love that last picture of the waterfall it looks like broken ice tumbling around. Diane
