Hi Fire Byrd,the cliffs/karst landscapes are formed of layers of siltstone, shale and sandstone with colour from the lichen,peat deposits etc. and by the sea there are deposits of minerals from the seaweed. http://www.lichens.ie/lichens-by-habitat/burren/
