Haast River bed

The South Island river beds are very wide to cope with the volume of water during the spring thaw and rains.

  2. Oh wow. The bitty touches of sunlight on the peaks....awesome.
And definitely a place to wander (just not when the bugs are rampant...LOL).

    Lovely photo, Marilyn!

  3. I love the little patch of water at the front of the photo and the colours of the mountains in the background. This is simply stunning!

  4. Yes, beautiful.
The composition is traditional in a sense; my eye takes a circular trip from the foreground to the middle to the sky and back again. The colors create a mood that keeps me "in" the photo, not wanting to leave. Something deep within me is satisfied... and that is a sort of definition of "beautiful," no?
    Good work! And, thank you!

  5. "Circular" is not quite the right word! More of an "S", almost a spiral...
