Are they some sort of shelter or storage boxes. I am most amused that the people in the middle of this photo are sitting behind one of these boxes & not showing any sign of interest in the beautiful sea!

These are beach baskets, Strandkörbe, which were invented at this place in Germany, to keep the wind off, or give you shade (when turning them away from the sun), and you can lock your things in them while swimming. Yes, it is lovely here on the island Usedom!
What are all those things on the beach, I cannot quite make them out, they look like boxes?
